You're graduating, so get ready to ROCK your senior session!
Congratulations on this huge accomplishment and milestone! Senior portraits are a fun and exciting way to document your graduation. Here are some tips for an amazing session:
Wardrobe:
- Bring 2-3 outfits for your session that you are comfortable in. I suggest one dressy and one casual outfit. This will give you variety in your images. I have a pop up tent for changing on location!
- Layers (sweaters, jackets, etc.) and accessories (hats, scarves, sunglasses, etc.) add dimension and interest to your photos.
- Choose colors that reflect the season of your photos. Pinterest has a ton of great wardrobe ideas and I am happy to offer suggestions as well. Avoid neon colors and graphic t-shirts.
- Be sure to consider your shoe choice and make sure it pairs well with your outfit.
- Make sure your fingernails are clean and freshly painted! This one is often overlooked. :)
What to bring:
- Brush, comb, bobby pins, hair spray, clips, etc. needed to touch up or change your hair style.
- Make up for touch ups
- Props unique to your interests (sports equipment, jerseys, instruments, books, etc.)
BFF Senior Sessions:
I offer BFF Senior Sessions to add a little extra fun! You and your BFF book sessions together, and you will then take turns being photographed individually and together. It can be nice to have an extra cheerleader in your corner for moral support, and it's a great way to create special memories before you are both off to the next big adventure!
What to expect during your session:
I schedule senior sessions for the last hour of daylight, or golden hour, as it's often called. This is the time of day when the light is most flattering, warm, and beautiful. We will take photos in a variety of poses, both full body and closeups. To get variety in your images, we will move to different backgrounds. Most times, we can do that within one location. If you have a location that is special to you, be sure to let me know so we can include it.
If you're nervous, that's okay, and to be expected! I will guide you in posing. Photographing seniors is one of my very favorite things to do, and you'll see why. We'll have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs! I can't wait to work with you and hear about the new journey you are beginning.
xoxo, Renee
